Our Policies
Appointments
If you find you can’t keep your appointment, please call the office at least 24 hours prior to your scheduled time. This will make it possible for another patient to be seen during that time. Failure to cancel your appointment could subject you to a service charge.
Our staff makes every effort to see you at your scheduled time. We respect the value of your time and do our best to keep you from having to wait for a long period of time. However, in the specialty of OB/GYN, surgical delays and emergencies may cause unforeseen and unpredictable delays in the office. We ask your kind indulgence and understanding. Our receptionist will keep you informed of such delays and will be happy to reschedule your appointment if your other commitments are affected.
Lab Results
You will be notified either by phone, mail or in person of all laboratory and radiology test results that are performed or ordered by your physician as part of a gynecologic evaluation. If you have not heard from our office within two weeks regarding your results of completed tests, please contact our office. Please be assured that if the situation warrants, you will be called or notified to discuss your test results. For obstetric patients, please feel free to ask about your results at your next appointment, as this is when normal results typically will be reviewed. OB patients will be notified of all abnormal results as soon as reviewed by a physician.
Telephone Calls
We welcome you to call our office with any questions or concerns you might have about your care. Please make all non-emergency phones calls during the weekdays when our doctors and clinical staff are in the office and we have access to your medical records.
After hours, while there is a physician on call at all times, it is impossible to evaluate a patient over the phone; therefore, we recommend presenting to L&D or the ER at WMC for serious concerns, or call the office the following day if the concern is non-emergent. For a true emergency, please go directly to Winchester Medical Center. If you are having a life-threatening situation, go to the nearest Emergency Room.
Hospital Privileges
Winchester OB/GYN admits their patients for major surgery and obstetrical care to Winchester Medical Center. The Labor and Delivery Unit moved to a new state of the art facility in January 2012. We also have surgical privileges at The Surgi-Center of Winchester for our patients requiring outpatient surgery.
