Biography

As a board-certified women’s health nurse practitioner, Melanie Wright provides expert care and support to OB/GYN patients at Reston Women’s Center in Reston, Virginia.

She earned her master’s degree in nursing from Frontier Nursing University in Kentucky, graduating with the highest honors. As a registered nurse, Melanie worked in almost every specialty, including medical, surgical, oncology, and critical care. However, her passion was always in women’s health, where she spent over 20 years caring for women and their families in labor and delivery, postpartum, and neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).

Melanie empowers women by educating them about their health. She has studied various forms of complementary medicine and believes in a holistic approach to wellness. She is certified in Reiki and therapeutic touch and has studied Wise Women Herbalism.

Melanie believes in fostering the next generation of nurses and dedicates her time to teaching nursing at Northern Virginia Community College and Shenandoah University. She also precepts nurse practitioner students.
