In her free time, Dr. Martinez enjoys salsa dancing with her husband, traveling and finding new DYI projects. She also enjoys spending time with her cats, friends and family.
Biography
Dr. Martinez was born and raised in La Paz, Bolivia. After graduating from high school, she moved to the U.S. to pursue a career in medicine. She discovered her passion for women’s health in medical school during her first day of her OBGYN rotation. “It is an honor and a privilege to be a part of bringing a new life into the world and witness women become mothers.”
Dr. Martinez attended Virginia Commonwealth University and completed her OBGYN residency training at VCU Health in Richmond, VA. She is committed to supporting women through all stages of their lives. She is particularly interested in contraception counseling, abnormal uterine bleeding, low and high-risk pregnancies and minimally invasive surgery.
Beyond her particular interests in OBGYN, Dr. Martinez is fluent in written and spoken Spanish and enjoys being able to connect with her Spanish speaking patients.
